Amidst the many hotels and guest houses which have mushroomed near the North Cliff of Varkala, La Exotica is the lone home stay started by Mr. Viswanathan and his wife Ragini. An area where many western tourists flock to the serene beaches, La Exotica reliably frees one from the baggage of whetting one’s bargaining skills. Suitable located on the beginning of the North Cliff, the home stay is a walkable distance from the cafes and beaches, yet peacefully away from thronging crowds. The home stay was started by the retired air force officer and his wife five years ago, when Varkala was just about getting established as the future Goa on numerous travel books across the world.
The idyllic view from the clean and spacious rooms is the finest feature of La Exotica. All 6 rooms face the sea and are equipped with a TV and an AC. The warmly decorated rooms with dark furniture and a dressing area are appropriate to relax in after a day at the beaches. With a perfect blend of privacy and the hospitality of a home, the guests can soak themselves in yoga, reading or mingling with others in the large spacious area of the homestay. Food is served in a common dining area where Mr. Viswanathan and his wife often join guests for breakfast and are happy to divulge secrets of this charming place. Having travelled across the world, the couple is sensitive to dissimilar palettes and serves Continental, North and South Indian food. With ample space in their own garden and the homestay area, they also welcome guests to bring their pets along.
