The Regent Hill Side Resort, Yercaud

It is almost always refreshing to see a colonial cottage bearing an old world charm in a small town. If you are looking to make Yercaud your next holiday destination, the Regent Hill Side Resort should be on your list. Tucked in the coffee plantations of the Shevaroy range of hills, the pleasant weather and the lush green surroundings make the place perfect for a holiday away from the city. Acquired from an old European lady called Miss Kinipel, Vishu has maintained a part of the old flooring of the house along with some distinct features like the high roofed ceiling and colonial decor. Among the many things re-furbished, the bathrooms and attached lawns to the four cottages are most delightful.

One is bound to catch onto Vishu’s enthusiasm and interest in many varied things like Bonsais, design, dogs, butterflies, horses, photography and much more. Having traversed a large part of the word, one conversation flows from one to another quite seamlessly.

Established in 1860, the house has an illustrious guest list, bearing names like Charles Dickens, Sir Robert Clive and the Nizam of Hyderabad.

Pets: With 6 pairs of dogs, Vishu is definitely an animal lover. Pets are welcome in the property.
